Yes, I am strange, but I love stumbling across pieces like this!
In doing a bit of research I came across this again tonight. Johannes Müller von Königsberg (Regiomontanus) was a great astronomer and in 1476 published his 'Calendarium' in Venice, predicting the position of the sun and moon for the next 40 years. However, although his work as an astronomer and mathematician is fascinating, what interested me this time was something else. This was the first complete printed title page in a very modern sense - it lists title, author, printer, place of publication and date in Arabic numerals! It's also the earliest print of classical ornament and the first Venetian woodcut to be printed with metal type.
